September Recap
The bad news is, if you missed the September Rock and Roll party, you missed one heck of a party. The good news is, this first party at the new location won't be the last and we expect the October Halloween event to surpass your wildest expectations. Considering this was the inaugural party at a totally different location, things were very smooth. There were a few bumps in the road, however, they are being worked on with the hotel to insure these small inconveniences will be taken care of.
We watched as couples entered the hotel with great anticipation and excitement. This 3-star location has all the amenities you would expect and more! Many arrived early for dinner at the restaurant with a buffet offering Beef tips over rice, Fried Chicken, Green Beans and other vegetables, Corn, Salads, Dessert and Drinks all at a price so affordable, you couldn't go anywhere else and get similar quality for less. Many gathered in and around the bar throughout the afternoon waiting for the Karaoke Meet and Greet to begin.
The ballroom, with almost 4000 square feet of room, was setup with tables and chairs with a bar that would soon offer draft and bottled beer and mixed drinks at unbelievably low prices. It wasn't long before the ballroom was filled with couples singing, dancing and flirting the evening away. With over 100 rooms rented for Friday evening, there were well over 125 couples in the ballroom this evening. One change to look forward to; the dinner buffet will be offered both evenings; great food, great fast service, all at a great price – you can't ask for more!
We have no idea where the time went; midnight was here before we knew it. The fun spilled out into the atrium bar and continued into the wee hours of the morning. We heard there were quite a few room parties going on. We also heard the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning was simply awesome; unfortunately we didn't get up early enough to try it out! Throughout the afternoon, couples continued to arrive at the hotel and you could feel the excitement building for the evening's event. We knew it was going to be a hot time! We would like to remind everyone to get your armbands early for the party; you don't want to stand in line, and there was a line (although it seemed to move fast).
So what can we say about the party? Well, we know the ballroom was chilled down to the low 60's that afternoon, however, you get almost 400 people in a room, there is going to be some heat! While the party officially began at 8pm, Elvis entered the room singing and dancing with many of the hot and sexy ladies around 8:30 (fashionably late of course but he did make a grand entrance!). We saw various t-shirts for the bands of Boston, AC/DC, Foreigner and others. The fans and groupies were awesome, seductive and impressive too. The ballroom was packed early and by 9pm was almost standing room only even though there was plenty of seating. Couples were dancing, socializing and meeting the many new couples.
As the evening progressed, it was hot, however, many adjusted to the heat as we noticed many wearing less clothing than they began the evening with. The dance floor extended the entire length of the ballroom; a sea of sexy seductive couples dancing line dances, a little bit of country, a little rock and roll, today's hip hop and even some disco. The fans and groupies of the rock legends provided a sexual and seductive image all night long.
Saturday evening's official party ended at midnight and the hotel provided a very affordable breakfast buffet at midnight; we heard nothing but rave reviews! The unofficial parties continued on until at least 5am when we called it a night; there may have been parties still going on, but for us, it had been a long day. Suffice it to say, there was an almost full moon Saturday night and we know we heard a lot of pleasurable howling going on.
The buzz Sunday morning was all about how smooth the weekend went for a first event at such a fine, quality, and impressive location with this many people. We know there were a few problems and they will be addressed and many took advantage of the early registration for October's Halloween party; usually the largest party of the year! Many said they couldn't wait for the next party and fortunately we all have one less week to wait!
You don't have to use witchcraft to get a reservation for our Halloween Event, but reservations are `flying away' at a record pace; this is one party you will not want to miss!
We would like to thank the club owners and
lifestyle sites who attended our weekend of events and made
this such a memorable experience; The Grove, Wicked
Sinsations, Smokey Mountain Connections, Moan Manor and
Wicked Garden. We also wish to thank Lady in Red,
Swinglifestyle, Swingtowns and others for promotional items
for some of our members; we appreciate your support in
helping us make The Foothills Club the premier club in the
State of South Carolina. We ask that you visit our many
advertisers and sponsors on our website; they help us each
month by advertising our events. Don't forget to enter in to
our 50/50 drawing; if you win, you could more than pay for
your entire weekend (or even that gas at 4.85 a gallon as
many saw this weekend).
We guaranteed the hotel we would fill 100
rooms for September and in the end, we filled over 160. For
the month of October, we have guaranteed 175 rooms and we
anticipate filling them and more. If you didn't reserve your
room for October when you checked out on Sunday, make sure
you call Dexter today at 864-266-4733 and get your name on
the list. You will be given the number to the hotel where
you must secure your room with a credit card and become a
part of what will be the most exciting party in South
Carolina on the 10th and 11th of October. We will limit the
number of couples due to the capacity of the ballroom (400
people). If we run out of hotel rooms, there will be rooms
available at our overflow hotel.
Many of our members will meet at the Tropics Lounge Meet and Greet on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Held at a lifestyle friendly bar, they serve excellent food and ice cold drinks and provide a place for those in the lifestyle to meet others in a no pressure environment. There is no cover charge and with very affordable drink prices, along with Karaoke providing the entertainment, this is a great way to fill that gap between parties at The Foothills Club.
If you need a room, The Tropics Lounge has negotiated special room rates with the hotel just for its guests. You can find out more about this event on Swinglifestyle or on their website at The Tropics Lounge. Join your lifestyle friends and sing and dance the evening away. If anything else happens, it's completely up to you! Karaoke begins at 8pm, come early and enjoy dinner!
