October Camping Trip 2008
October 16-19, 2008
There is a limit on how many people we can accommodate for this event. You must register by contacting Frank by email or phone number as listed below; signing up here on SLS does not guarantee you a place. This event is held in cooperation with The Foothills Club for its members. Check in will begin 2pm on Thursday, October 16 with checkout on Sunday October 19.
Well, South Carolina has heard our requests for more camping! Initially, they were closing our favorite camping area at the end of August. Then they decided to extend it through the month of September. Now they have extended it to the end of October. So if you missed our previous camping trips for 2008, here is your chance to make up for those missed opportunities. This weekend is by far the most exciting and most anticipated weekend of the year with clear crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and chilly nights warming up around the campfire or some other inviting place.
OK folks, here it is; the last group camp of the year! We helped open the park this past Spring and if you were there, you know how exciting it was. If you weren’t able to make it, but heard the stories, you know you want to be at this camping trip, the last of the season at Crescent. We had all of the sites filled for the May 2008 and many more couples showed up just for the cookout! We also had another sell out group for our August camping trip and we know this one will be full too (always is!).
All the sites are very nice with power and water only and there is a dump station at the entrance to the park. All sites are first come first serve with reserved sites for campers 28 feet and over.
The Details!
The camp ground is located near Hartwell Dam. It is a group camp ground with either 22 or 32 sites depending on what we need. I will secure the park for us so all reservations are made through me. The camp sites are only $15 a night. If you have someone stay in your camper it is $10 a night for them to help cover the cost of the cookout. You can just show up for the cookout and spend the day and enjoy the feast for $10 a couple; we just need to know you are coming! We have a community breakfast that you can pitch in or do your own. So don't worry if you are in tents; we make it easy for you! We have one of the best chuck wagon cooks around, so if you think you can beat their cooking you are more than welcome to prove it....... LOL. All help is welcome and appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday Cookout
All you need for the Saturday cook out is bring one covered dish so if you have a specialty, throw it on us. We supply all the meat and cooks. If you have a special request, get with me on it and we will see what we can do!
Contacts and Reservations
You can send me an email to coacht101@aol.com or call 770-540-7208 before noon. Again, signing up here on SLS does not guarantee you a spot, you must contact me for a reservation!
P.S. Folks we have a blast at these things; just ask anyone that has been on one of these trips. However, this is a public park so remember all alcohol MUST be in a cup and Park Officials do ride through checking on things. Smokers, please bring a butt can with you so we can keep everything tidy making clean up easier on Sunday.
